Zip It Jacket Sewing Pattern (Curvy Fit)

This is a great warm jacket and it's not a difficult sew. I don't have good luck shortening zippers so I had to use a slightly shorter one than I needed but it all worked out.

As always this pattern was very easy to follow. My jacket was an experiment as I wasn’t sure I liked the fabric before I started. I also used a zip I had taken out of an old jacket, I wish I’d bought a new one in a matching colour now as it turned out so well!

This pattern is great! The instructions were easy to follow and very thorough. I ended up with a very professional looking garment which I am so pleased with. I know it will get a lot of wear.

Well written instructions, easy to follow, lovely hoodie, didn’t make it reversible, just lined it

I was very surprised how quickly this went together. I put it on right away and my husband and my kids all complimented it- gonna have to get the kids pattern now!

I was worried that as a beginner I was biting off more than I could chew on this reversible jacket. Happily, the instructions were detailed and clear and made way for a resounding success. I love my Zip It Jacket and see more in my future!

I'm almost done sewing-up this pattern and I'm thrilled with the level of detail in the step-by-step instructions. It far surpasses what I've seen in other online patterns.

If I were to make any suggestions for improvement, it'd be that the color-blocked front bodice in the step-by-step photos makes it a little hard to tell if you're working with the lining or the outer shell. Would have been nicer if it were just the 2 (inner/outer) colors for illustrative purposes. Also, it would be nice if the paste-together version of the PDF pattern were on smaller "large" pages (one large pattern piece per page-tile block or a bunch of small ones) so that you don't need a huge table to paste it up and work with it. I have a decent-sized craft table as my cutting table and I found it difficult to work with. Kept falling on the floor or hitting things.

This pattern is a staple. I have used the variations to make a jacket for my husband, sons (straight fit), grand daughter (kids) and myself (curvy fit). It makes an excellent warm winter hoodie. The instructions are good and it comes together quickly. I recommend this pattern and will be making more.

Simple a faire.

Very good pattern. My only dislike is the zipper. I used a Parka/Sport zipper, which is not able to be shortened and as it was too long, I had to get a zipper that was an inch shorter that the length of the jacket. I think notations need to be added, for using an alternative zipper.

I just printed it out. Will be making it after shopping for fabric.

I really enjoyed realizing that pattern. Easy to understand, the final is wonderful! I will for sure be making a new one shortly!

Instructions easy enough to understand. Disappointed that there were no instructions to make the unlined version so struggled trying to modify the pattern to do this. Otherwise a great pattern.

I actually used this pattern to make a showerproof jacket with hood and it worked a treat. Very easy pattern to follow. Would definitely recommend
