Ellie & Mac Inspired Costume Ideas!

It’s my family’s favorite time of the year! Spooky season. Who’s getting ready to begin or finishing up their Halloween sews?

Despite my 7 year old’s request that we all dress up as Chucky this year, I was able to talk him into family themed Alice in wonderland costumes!

I’ve had a lot going on these past few months and had hopes to buy all the costumes Ready To Wear ( I know: I’m disappointed in myself as well) but unfortunately (or fortunately) I was unable to find the white rabbit in a cute costume for my 6 month old. Thus begun my task of creating the costume.

Check the photos out below of how I used the following Ellie & Mac patterns to create the white rabbit from Alice in wonderland!

  • Snowflake jumper

  • Duchess jacket

I’ll also show how I made my dogs’ costumes out of the hoodie dog sweater pattern, and suggest other great patterns to use to craft the most epic Halloween costumes!

We normally don’t dress the dogs up because Newfoundlands are huge and finding costumes that fit them are nearly impossible. I had initially snagged this great mummy fabric to sew up pajamas for my little ones but my son suggested I make the dogs’ some costumes with it…the dog hoodie pattern was perfect!

Looking for the perfect chic cape? Try the Nightfall cape pattern! It comes in kid and adult sizes.

Want to take it back to the 1920’s for your costume with the classic Peter Pan collar? Try the dashing dress pattern and the sitting pretty collar kids pattern to match your little! This would also make a great base for Cinderella!

Maleficent would be amazing using the Hipster dress!

Use the Quinn dress or holiday cheer dress to create the most adorable princess dress!

The combination and possibilities are endless with all of the Ellie & Mac patterns. Use Pinterest to search for costume ideas and find your patterns to best suit your needs! I’m so excited to see what you create!
