Sizing Info:
This PDF sewing pattern comes in two sizes with multiple strap lengths:
- Small (Finished Size is approx 8" wide by 12" high by 2.5" deep)
- Large (Finished Size is approx 10" wide by 15" high by 3" deep)
Fabric Recommendation:
This Bag is designed to be made using medium to heavy-weight woven fabrics for the Main Pieces and medium-weight woven fabric for the Lining Pieces.
Fabric Suggestions:
Woven Fabric for Outer: For Example Canvas, Faux Leather, Vinyl, Denim, Pul, interfaced Cotton Woven (medium to heavy-weight).
Woven Fabric for Lining: Canvas, Quilting Cotton, etc. (medium-weight)
Interfacing:
Depending on the fabric that you use for the main and liner pieces, you can use fusible fleece or medium weight interfacing for the main pieces and light to medium weight interfacing for the lining pieces.

I needed a small cross body bag and this seemed ideal. The instructions were easy to follow, words and pictures and I have a great little bag that holds more than you'd think with zip pockets front and back outside, zip pocket and slip pocket inside.
Wonderful pattern. I made the cross body bag. The video instructions were very helpful. Made a great birthday present for my daughter. I made mine out upholstery fabric and I lined it with a Scoobie Doo printed cotton to make her smile every time she opens it. I made bias tape out of a contrasting cotton. Very happy with the result. I didn’t like the look of the suggested strap material on my bag so I made my own. It was my first attempt at this type of bag but it won’t be my last.

I made the smaller size and added 2" to the gusset width. It's perfect for the Disney and Universal parks. As a travel agent, I have to carry a few extra pieces of equipment, and this bag is just perfect. I love that I can carry it backpack or sling style to change things up if I get too hot. Thanks!
I made up the pattern from Harry Potter fabric for my daughter's school trip to London and Harry Potter studios. I enjoyed making if as I learned new skills even as an experienced sewer. I have many more planned ☺️ The sew along on YouTube was fun to follow and very informative - I highly recommend it!
This took me a long time to make - cutting the fabric took the most time- but it was well worth it. I used both the video and written instructions, and it turned out the way it was supposed to. On the next ones, I will eliminate the connector for use as a backpack, as I expect I will use only as a crossbody / sling. I made the small and am able to fit my water bottle, phone, hand sanitizer and more in it.
This pattern is so versatile and the options make it so customizable. The online tutorial makes putting it together easy to understand.
Very happy with this purchase. So many different options. I have made 2 & will make more for sure. E&M patterns are so easy to follow with instructions & especially with the video. Highly recommend their patterns.
